This is a tribute to our nan, Rosalind, often known as Rose, who was born in Teddington on January 18, 1943.
She was a kind and caring mother to our mum, Rosie, and a thoughtful nan who was always present despite the miles between us.
As we hear more and more stories from her friends in Bankfoot, Scotland, we are beginning to understand just how valued and loved Rose was in the village, and how much her friendship and time (and baking) meant to those around her.
Our nan was never one to shy away from the community, and was known by many of you as the local Avon representative, ensuring the ladies of Bankfoot received all the newest beauty products and could keep up appearances. A helping hand at the top of the road, she was often babysitting for neighbours; baking cakes for Jimmy the Postman; and checking in and running errands for friends.
It means a lot to us to know she was so dear to many of you and is a comfort during this sad time.
We invite all of you to visit this page as a tribute to Rose, where you can contribute your stories and memories of her, send a thought, add a photograph, make a charitable donation in her name, or simply light a candle for her. (All of this can be done by the menu on the left).
As you all know, our nan lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years. She experienced a lot of pain in her hands and feet, though it was barely noticeable with the way (and speed!) she walked, her positive disposition and her active lifestyle in Scotland, including her favourite weekly walking and yoga sessions.
Some of you have expressed a wish to make a charitable donation instead of sending flowers, so we would like to invite you to donate to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). The NRAS is a voice for people affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis in the UK. The charity's goal is to support all those with Rheumatoid Arthritis, informing and empowering them to live life to the fullest.
Thank you for being a friend to our nan, and part of her fantastic life.
xx
Happy heavenly birthday to you mum. I wish things could go back to what they were xxx Miss you lots
For your birthday ❤️ Always missing you
We would like to thank all of Rose's friends from Bankfoot for coming to Rose's remembrance tea last week, and for all of the kind donations from the Walking Group, the Wednesday Club, Gentle Exercise, friends and neighbours which have come to a total of £215.00 including GiftAid.
Help grow Rose's Tribute by adding messages or memories you'd like to share.
